A video I made for the records I bought in 2025. Includes ratings, mini reviews & original music by me.

Records of 2025

Stephen Meaux March 29, 2026

In 2025, I bought 24 records. No idea if that is high or low since this is my first year tracking. I started my record collection when I was in college. My first was Paul McCartney’s Ram. Bought it for $1 at a flea market. It was severely scratched and I no longer own it.

I keep a list of records I want to buy in my Notes app. Helps me stay focused when I am at a record store. It’s difficult to go to a record store for just five minutes. I’ve never done it. I don’t think many have. It’s easy to linger once inside. “I’m going to look in that section real quick.” You tell yourself but then you’ve been there 45 minutes looking at German imports of Rubber Soul.

I tend to buy in store instead of online. Much prefer to flip through records. When you find that one… It’s like a perfect Guinness pour. Or seeing your cat lie on her back. Or finding a parking spot at Trader Joe’s. It’s simply fantastic.

Now, here are some 2025 music stats followed by the list of records I bought.
